Jaya rādhe, jaya kṛṣṇa, jaya vṛndāvan
śrī govinda, gopīnātha, madana-mohan
All glories to Radha and Krsna and the divine forest of Vrndavana. All glories to the three presiding Deities of Vrndavana--Sri Govinda, Gopinatha, and Madana-mohana.
( Verse 1, Shri Vraj Dham Mahimarita )
jayati te 'dhikaṁ janmanā vrajaḥ
śrayata indirā śaśvad atra hi
dayita dṛśyatāṁ dikṣu tāvakās
tvayi dhṛtāsavas tvāṁ vicinvate
The gopīs said: O beloved, Your birth in the land of Vraja has made it exceedingly glorious, and thus Indirā, the goddess of fortune, always resides here. It is only for Your sake that we, Your devoted servants, maintain our lives. We have been searching everywhere for You, so please show Yourself to us.
You are all welcome, who are chanting from 851 locations.
Damodar mas ki Jai!!
Kartik mas ki Jai. !!
We are supposed to reach Vrindavan by accomplishing Kartik months vows. Or we should complete our Kartik vows by reaching Vrindavan. When we chant Hare Krishna mahamantra, this chant delivers us to Vrindavan.
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Ram Hare Ram
Ram Ram Hare Hare
Because the deity of this chant is Radha Krishna. Each chant has a significant mentioned dejty. Through the chanting & hearing of a mantra we worship a particular form of Lord. Lord of Hare Krishna mahamantra is Radha Krishna. Hari Hari
Krsna has many many other names also. Like Radha Shyamsunder. And Radha also has many other names. In Barsana they are called as Ladli -lal. She is also known as Vrishbhanu Nandini. And Krsna is known as Nand Nandan. There are many other special names for both of them. There are ordinary names and special names also. Lord is also known as Trilokinath, who is the owner of three planets. This is a special name. And ordinary names are also there. We are not degrading them by calling ordinary names. They are never degraded. In scriptures few special names and few ordinary names are mentioned. Like
Radha Raman , Shyam Sunder, Vrindavan Bihari Lal are also name. Yashoda Dulal is also a name. Ras Bihari is another name. Few names are assigned due to some specific past time. And few names are assigned for special qualities. As Lord is popular for his unlimited kind compassion towards devotees so he is known as Bhakta Vatsala. Or why Lord is called as Shyam Sunder. ? Because he is very beautiful and his colour is like monsoon clouds so he is known as Shyam Sunder. Like this Lord has various names and has special names also. Hari Hari!. When we call these various names or we call Hare Krishna mahamantra then we immediately reach Vrindavan.
Lord of Hare Krishna mahamantra is one who resides in Vrindavan. Lord Ram resides in Ayodhya and Krishna resides in Vrindavan. When we call these specific names then we reach that place respectively. And we can also claim that when we call upon their Lordship’s names then Lord personally arrives wherever his names are being called. And when Lord arrives at the place where you are chanting his name then that place immediately transforms in Vrindavan. Either you are delivered to Vrindavan by remembering Lord and chanting Lord’s names or Vrindavan Biharilal , Deen Dayal or Bhakta Vatsal arrives there. Lord’s one more name is Deen Dayadra Nath and Loknath and Tribhuvan Nath also. Lord is also known by a special name as Deen Dayadra Nath.
Deena means fallen conditioned souls or poor helpless and Dayal means merciful.
Papi tapi yat chilo
Harinaam e uddharilo
The Lord looks upon fallen poor conditioned people like us then something happens. Since he is Deena Nath he showers mercy upon us.
Deen Bandhu Deena Nath Meri Dori tere hath.
There are two meanings of word 'Deena' . One is known as a day time. The other is fallen or forsaken. When the Lord looks upon a helpless soul is approaching him then his heart melts with compassion.
aham ajnana-jam tamah
Out of compassion for them, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance.(BG 10.11)
Lord’s heart fills with compassion. We see morning dews in gardens or fields or on leaves of trees and creepers; they create dampness and moisture. Such type of dampness does not happen in Lord’s heart. The Lord's heart melts with mercy when he knows the condition of the poor soul. That is why he advents in many forms.
golokam ca parityajya lokanam trana-karanat kalau gauranga-rupena lila-lavanya-vigrahah
"In the Kali-Yuga, I will leave Goloka and, to save the people of the world, I will become the handsome and playful Lord Gauranga." (Markendaya Pūrana)
The conditioned souls are going through miseries so to relieve them from such pains and to deliver them from this material world Lord appears in this world and leaves his Goloka Dham. Therefore he is popular as Deen Dayadra Nath. Hari Hari!
Madhvendra Puri is praying like this
He Deen Dayadra Nath
ayi dina dayadra natha he
mathura natha kadavalokyase
hrdayam tvad aloka kataram
dayita bhramyati kim karoty aham
"0 compassionate Lord of the poor and humble! 0 Lord of Mathura! When shall I see You again? Without seeing You, My heart has become very much afflicted. Oh My beloved, I am overwhelmed. What shall I do now?" (Caitanya-caritamrta Madhya 4.197)
This mood was expressed by Madhvendra Puri Pad. Madhevendra Puri used to pray again in this verse in his last days. Repeatedly he is saying that He Deen Dayadra Nath , He Mathura Nath when will I see you. ? Our Parikrama also reached Mathura yesterday. So Lord started residing in Mathura by leaving Vrindavan.
Soduniya gopina Krishna Mathure se gela
Krsna left for Mathura and he left Gopis behind. (Marathi Abhang)
Lord left Gopis in Vrindavan. Akrūra escorted Krsna and Balram. Now Krsna becomes a citizen of Mathura and the Gopis are very sad in separation from him. At that time Gopis said these words when we will see you ? This prayer is in a higher superior mood of separation. It is a Mood of Gopi’s. Madhvendra Puri also used to pray like this. Radha Rani also has a similar mood. It is a very superior personal prayer that it is mentioned in Chaitanya Charitamrita only 3 people knew about this prayer. One is Madhvendra Puri and second is Radharani and third is Krsna. There was no fourth person who knew the deep mood of this prayer. Hari Hari!
Lord took birth in Mathura. You will see and hear about Mathura in Parikrama. Mathura is better than Vaikuntha. Because Lord never takes birth in Vaikuntha. He goes to Mathura to take birth. He appeared as son of Vasudev and Devaki and relished some special loving exchanges with them. That is known as Vatsalya Bahv. He will perform past times like taking birth and became Vasudev Nandan and being Devaki Nandan. He does such past times in Mathura only and not in Vaikuntha. Therefore Mathura is better.
Mathura Dham ki Jai!
Srila Rup Goswami explains in Upadesh Amrit that Braj Mandal is better than Mathura. Braj mandal ki Jai. !!
There are 12 forests in Braj Mandal. Lord has performed many past times in these 12 forests. Therefore Braj Mandal is better than Mathura. Govardhan is better than them.
Giriraj Govardhan ki Jai !!
You can see cows in the picture. There are three cows in the picture. Go means cow and Vardhan means to take care and to help to progress or prosper. One who satisfies cows is known as Govardhan. Govardhan provides water, grass, fruits and shelter to cows. Therefore Govardhan is better than Vraj Mandal. And Radha Kund is even better than Govardhan. Because it belongs to Radha so it is dearmost to Lord. Radha Kund is as dear to Lord as much as Radha. Is there any other personality who is more dear to Krsna than Radha ? No. She is the number one. No one else is dearer than Radha. Krsna loves Radha Kunda just the same way as Radha. Radha is sarvato pari. Therefore Radha Kund is also sarvo pari. There is no other place better than Radha Kund. Hari Hari!
Mathura has a lot of importance as Lord took birth there. It is not an ordinary thing. Mathura is Birthplace of Krsna. In whole universe there is only one place where Shri Krsna took birth and that is Mathura. Mathura Dham ki Jai !
Immediately after birth he departed for Gokul on the same night. Gokul is also known as Mahavan. For a few years he stayed in Gokul. Then he crossed the Yamunā river along with all residents of Gokul on the day of Diwali. It is the day of Damodar Lila. In Nand Bhavan Damodar Lila has taken place. Lord was tied with the wooden mortar. It was the day of Diwali.
nirmamantha svayaṁ dadhi
yāni yānīha gītāni
smarantī tāny agāyata
Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: One day when mother Yaśodā saw that all the maidservants were engaged in other household affairs, she personally began to churn the yogurt. While churning, she remembered the childish activities of Kṛṣṇa, and in her own way she composed songs and enjoyed singing to herself about all those activities. ( S.B. 10.9.1-2)
Srila Sukh Dev Goswami has said once upon a time on that day residents of Gokul departed for Vrindavan. They crossed the Yamunā. And then in Vrindavan and in other forests also Krsna performed various past times. And then when Krsna was 10 or 11 years old it means in early teenage till that time Krsna relished loving exchanges in various past times enjoying Vatsalya bhava, Sakhya bhava with friends and also Madhurya lila pasttimes . In Gokul Vatsalya mood was dominant and then when he left Gokul he stayed in Chatikara. There he relished the sakhya mood. In this cowherd past times also took place. And at last when Krsna was little more older at the age of eight or nine years he began to meet Radha and other Gopis. And then Ras Dance past time took place on Sharad Poornima. These past times took place in Vrindavan.
After completion of such various past times Kamsa sent Akrūra to escort Krsna and Balram. Akrūra brought them. It is very easy to say that Akrūra brought them but Sukhdev Goswami has dedicated a whole chapter on Akrūra leaving for Vrindavan then the mood of Akrūra and his experiences. His arrival in Nand gram you will understand it in Parikrama. His welcome in Nandgram. He stayed for one night there and then the next morning he departed from there. It is very beautifully explained. Akrūra brought Krsna and Balram. And there are other pastimes in Mathura. Like entering Mathura with his cowherd friends. Residents of Braj like Nand baba also reached there. The king of Mathura, Kamsa is performing Dhanur Yagna. He called Krsna and Balaram on pretext of inviting them for Yagyana. Huge ground was established for wrestling. And there was a plan to kill Krsna while wrestling. It would have been done through great wrestlers.
But this never happened. They wanted to kill Krsna but Kamsa was killed. In Mathura there is Rang-tila or Rang Manch. Rangeshwar Mahadev is close to this in Mathura. Pipeleshwar, Bhuteshwar, Go(karneshwar and Rangeshwwar are four places where Shivji resides. He is known as Dikpal. Dik means directions. In all four directions Shivji is residing and taking care of Mathura. Rang manch is close to Rangeshwar Mahadev. Krsna's killing of Kamsa was a great incidence in Mathura . Hari Hari!
Krsna is unlimited and his pastimes are also unlimited.
Take part in Parikrama. And inspire others to join it. You can make it as a Kartik Vrat. Earlier it was not possible because of lack of time and busy schedule. But now due to Coronavirus the Parikrama is available at home in the form of Virtual Parikrama. Thus it has been made very easy for you. Take full advantage of this. Hari Hari! It will develop devotion for Radha Krsna and Vrindavan’s mood in your mind. Okay.
Many devotees are writing that they liked the Parikrama very much. Thank you maharaj who arranged Braj mandal please. But we should be grateful to the team of virtual Parikrama team. Our Mahatma Vidur Prabhu , Swaroopanand Prabhu, President of Vrindavan temple is also contributing in English commentary. Panch Gaouda Prabhuji is also there. My god sister Mahadevi mataji is also contributing. And Dinanikampa mataji has a major role. Like that many others.
Everyday at the end of Parikrama credits are displayed. You can read them and express your thanks to them. And ultimately thank Prabhupada.
Srila Prabhupada ki Jai. !!
Radha Shyamsunder, Krishna Balram and Gaur Nitai ki Jai !!
Gaur Premanande Hari Hari Bol
