8 अक्टूबर 2019 हरे कृष्ण! आज हमारे साथ 520 स्थानों से भक्त जप कर रहे हैं। आप सभी भक्तों का इस जपा कॉन्फ्रेंस में स्वागत है। आज बहुत ही पावन दिवस है, आज विजय दशमी है। आप सभी को राम विजय दशमी की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं! आप में से कई भक्त दशहरा और राम विजय दशमी की अपनी शुभकामनाएं लिख कर भेज रहे हैं। मैं भी आप सभी को राम विजय दशमी की बधाई देता हूं। मैं यह भी सोच रहा था कि आज के दिन किसी का वध हुआ था, किसी को मार दिया गया था और आप खुश हैं।आज के दिन रावण का वध हुआ था अर्थात आज उसकी मृत्यु का दिन है और हम रावण की मृत्यु के दिन अपनी खुशी व्यक्त कर रहे हैं। यह हम सभी के लिए खुशी का दिन बन गया है। यह किस प्रकार हो सकता है? जब भी कोई राक्षस भगवान के हाथों मारा जाता है तो देवता प्रकट होते हैं और उत्सव करते हैं। रावण एक दैत्य अर्थात दानव था, जब उसका वध भगवान के द्वारा किया गया तब वहां देवता प्रकट हुए और उन्होंने अपना हर्ष व्यक्त किया। वे अत्यंत ही प्रसन्न थे। मैं यह सोच रहा था कि हम सभी भी एक प्रकार से दैत्य बन चुके हैं रावण और कुम्भकर्ण दोनों जय और विजय थे,उन्होंने दैत्यों की भूमिका अदा की थी। कुछ समय पश्चात उनका पतन हुआ, और वे वैकुंठ से नीचे गिर करके इस धरती पर दैत्य बने। हम भी अत्यंत पतित जीव हैं। हम भी सालोक्य, गोलोक, साकेत, वैकुंठ से इस धरती पर आए हैं, हमारा भी वहां से पतन हुआ है और अब हम इस भौतिक जगत में सभी दैत्यों के समान रह रहे हैं। हमारे भीतर भी आसुरी भाव व तामसिक प्रवृत्तियां हैं। जब हमारे अंदर के आसुरी भाव का पूर्णतया वध होगा, तब भगवान कितना प्रसन्न होंगे और वह हमारे लिए भी सबसे अधिक हर्ष का दिन होगा। जब हमारे अंदर से पूर्णरूपेण यह आसुरी भाव चला जाएगा, तभी हम वास्तव में खुश होंगे। हरि! हरि! भगवान श्री राम ने रावण का वध किया था। वास्तव में भगवान श्री राम ने रावण का वध करके एक प्रकार से रावण का उद्धार किया था और यही रावण को मारने का उद्देश्य था। रावण का वध करना भगवान श्री राम की एक लीला थी। वास्तव में भगवान का लक्ष्य केवल रावण, कुम्भकर्ण अथवा उस समय के राक्षसों का वध करना ही नहीं था परंतु उनका लक्ष्य हम सभी भी हैं, अंततः हमारा भी वध होगा। हम भगवान श्री राम के शरणागत हो गए हैं और हमनें उनके पवित्र नाम की शरण ली है। हरे कृष्ण हरे कृष्ण कृष्ण कृष्ण हरे हरे। हरे राम हरे राम राम राम हरे हरे।। जब हम इस हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का जप करते हैं तो हमारा वध होता है। यहाँ हमें यह समझना चाहिए कि हम कौन हैं ? हम आत्मा हैं और आत्मा का कभी वध नहीं हो सकता परंतु हमारे भीतर आसुरी भाव है। हमारी राक्षसी प्रकृति है, हमारे काम, क्रोध, मद, लोभ, अहंकार, ईर्ष्या छह शत्रु हैं। काम हमारा सबसे प्रमुख शत्रु है । हम सभी इस काम के वशीभूत हो चुके हैं। रावण भी इसी काम वासना के कारण अंधा हो चुका था और वह सीता जी के साथ में भोग करना चाहता था। हमारे भीतर भी वही काम भाव है और हम भी इस भौतिक जगत में, उस काम भावना के कारण और अधिक भोग करना चाहते हैं लेकिन वही वासना हमें परेशान कर रही है और हमें संतुष्ट कर व्यस्त रखती है। इस भाव के कारण हमारे अंदर इच्छाएं जगी हैं जिसके कारण हम इस दुनिया का आनंद लेना चाहते हैं। इसलिए हम भगवान श्री राम के चरणों में यह प्रार्थना करते हैं कि "जिस प्रकार उन्होंने रावण का वध किया,उसी प्रकार हमारे भीतर भी जो काम रूपी शत्रु बैठा हुआ है, उसका वह वध करें।" जब ऐसा होगा तब वास्तव में भगवान श्री राम की प्रसिद्धि / यश का और अधिक प्रचार होगा। भगवान की प्रसिद्धि और अधिक फैलेगी। वहीं भगवान की और अधिक विजय होगी। जय श्री राम! हरि! हरि! भगवान श्री राम के नाम, रूप, गुण, लीला, धाम आदि शस्त्रों के द्वारा ही हमारे भीतर जितने भी आसुरी प्रवृत्ति के शत्रु हैं, उनका वध हो सकता है। अतः हमें सदैव भगवान श्री राम का स्मरण करना चाहिए। भक्त टिप्पणी कर रहे हैं और जैसा कि यह सर्वविदित भी है, जब हनुमान और उनका दल राम सेतु बना रहे थे, उस समय नल और नील दो भाई, बड़ी बड़ी शिलाओं के ऊपर भगवान श्री राम का नाम लिख रहे थे अर्थात उन चट्टानों पर भगवान के नाम की मुहर लगा रहे थे। जैसे ही उन शिलाओं पर राम का नाम लिखा जाता और उसके बाद जब वे उन विशाल पत्थरों को हिन्द महासागर में फैंकते, तब वे पत्थर डुबते नहीं थे अपितु वे भगवान श्री राम का नाम अंकित होने के कारण जल पर तैर रहे थे। अगर यह उन चट्टानों के साथ हो सकता है जो कि निर्जीव है,फिर हमारे साथ क्यों नहीं ? भगवान राम के नाम के साथ जुड़े होने के कारण यदि वे पत्थर तैर सकते हैं तो हम सभी तो सजीव प्राणी हैं, हमारे भीतर चेतना है। अगर हम भगवान श्री राम के नाम का जप करते हैं तो क्या हम इस भवसागर को पार नहीं कर सकते ? यदि हम गंभीरता पूर्वक इस हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का जप करेंगे। इस राम नाम को स्वीकार करेंगे तो हम इस भवसागर में डूबेंगे नहीं अपितु हम इस पर तैरेंगे। न केवल तैरेंगे अपितु इस नाम रुपी जहाज में बैठकर पुनः अपने घर भगवदधाम जा सकते हैं। यह भी राम नाम की महिमा है, कृष्ण नाम की महिमा है। इसलिए हमें इसे अत्यंत गंभीरता पूर्वक लेना चाहिए और सावधानीपूर्वक इस हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का जप करना चाहिए एवं इस पवित्र नाम से आकर्षित होना चाहिए तब हम डूबेंगे नहीं और हम इस भौतिक अस्तित्व में तैरेंगे और श्री कृष्ण से जुड़ पाएंगे। इसलिए हरे कृष्ण का जप करते रहना चाहिए। उस दिन भगवान श्री राम लंका में थे और उन्होंने रावण का वध किया था। भगवान श्री राम द्वारा रावण वध की इस लीला का सदैव स्मरण करना चाहिए। यदि हम भगवान की इस लीला का स्मरण करते हैं तो हम इस लीला में सम्मलित भी होते हैं। भारत में विशेषकर उत्तर भारत में राम भक्त आज के दिन बड़ी संख्या में एकत्रित होते हैं और रावण के पुतले को जलाते हैं। जब वह पुतला जलता है तो कई बार वे उस पर पत्थर भी फैंकते हैं। कई भक्त धनुष और तीर लेकर भी आते हैं। वे उस पुतले पर बाण छोड़ते है। इस तरह से जब हम रावण वध की इस लीला का स्मरण करते हैं तो हम भी रावण के वध में सम्मिलित होते हैं। इस प्रकार भगवान राम द्वारा रावण के वध की इस लीला के स्मरण से हमारे भीतर के काम का भी वध होता है। इस लीला को याद करने से हमारे अंदर की वासनाएं मिट जाएंगी। आज के दिन का विशेष महत्व है। विजयदशमी के दिन हमें इस लीला का स्मरण करना चाहिए और जो भक्त स्वयं को इस काम, क्रोध,मद ,लोभ, मत्सर, ईर्ष्या इन सभी से मुक्त होना चाहते हैं, उसे अवश्य ही भगवान राम की इस रावण वध लीला का स्मरण करना चाहिए। जय श्री राम!हो गया काम। कई बार कुछ भक्त ऐसा भी कहते हैं। कि यदि आप भगवान श्री राम का नाम लेंगे, आपकी विजय होगी। भगवान राम का नाम लेकर आप विजयी हो सकते हैं। अभी हम इस कॉन्फ्रेंस को यहीं विराम देते हैं। मैं अभी दिल्ली के पार्थसारथी मंदिर में हूं लेकिन मुझे अभी दिल्ली के पंजाबी बाग मंदिर में भागवतम क्लास देने के लिए जाना है। वहाँ हम आठ बजे विजयदशमी पर भगवान राम की महिमा को और अधिक कहेंगे। आज दिल्ली के पार्थसारथी मंदिर में कीर्तन मेला भी है , यह पूरे दिन जारी रहेगा। इस प्रकार से मंदिर भगवान राम की विजयदशमी को मना रहा है। मेरा भी शाम को कीर्तन का स्लॉट है, लगभग सात या आठ बजे के आसपास। यदि आपके पास समय हो तो आप सुबह आठ बजे भागवतम कक्षा और शाम को आप कीर्तन सुन सकते हैं। जय श्री राम!

8 OCTOBER 2019 KILL THE RAVANA WITHIN US Today is the day of Ram-vijay. Many of you are writing or conveying your Dussera greetings. I also greet you all on this happy auspicious day of Ram-vijay. I was also thinking someone was killed this day and you are happy. You are expressing your joy on Ravana's death day. It has become a happy day for you all. How is that? Whenever a demon is killed by the Lord the demigods appear on the scene and they have a celebration. They express joy as the demon is killed. I was thinking that we are also demons. We have also become demons. Ravan and Kumbhkaran were Jay and Vijay. They had assumed the role of demons. They fell from Vaikuntha and became demons. Likewise, we also are fallen souls. We also have fallen from who knows where - whether Goloka or Saket dham or Vaikuntha, and now we are acting like demons in this world. When that demon and demonic nature in us will be killed then the demigods would be happy and that would be the happiest day for all of us. We would be really happy when the demoniac nature, asuri- bhav, within us would be finally and fully finished. So Ram killed Ravana today. What has exactly transpired, is that Ram has liberated Ravana. That was his aim of killing Ravana. But Ram's aim was not just killing Ravana or killing Kumbhkaran and any other demons of those days. They were not the only target. They were not the only ones on Ram's hit list. We all are also on that hit list. Finally we are also getting killed as we have come to the stage of surrendering to Sri Ram, as we are finally surrendering to the holy names of Ram through the chanting of: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare This chanting is killing us, not the real us. We are ofcourse souls and souls cannot be killed, but the demon and demonic nature within us is. The lust, the kama-rog in us, the kama- bhav in us, the kama consciousness - those desires in us are the enemies within us. They are the six serpents, kama, krodha, lobha mada, moha and matsarya ( lust, anger, greed, illusion, pride and envy). These are the demons. These are the enemies in us. The leading demon is lust and lust is what Ravana was being harassed by. That is why he was attempting to enjoy Sita alone. The very same kama, not similar, but the same lust is bothering us, grasping us, keeping us busy, and causing this bhav. Desires are aroused in us. We want to enjoy this world. So we pray,”As You kindly killed Ravana, that way Sri Ram, kill the same demon that is harassing and troubling us.” That would be a further victory of Lord Ram. Ram Vijay, Ram became victorious today, so this could be another victory of Ram when the demon in us would be killed. We pray to Him to kill the demon in us. Ram Nama Guna, Rupa, Lila, Dhama are the weapons with which the demon in us could be killed. So we should always remember Ram. The devotees make comments like, “Look!, when Hanuman and company were throwing big, big rocks into the ocean to build the bridge, before the rocks were thrown into the waters of the Indian ocean, they were writing the name of Ram on each rock. This was Nal and Neel’s service. They had a big brush and they were stamping the rocks with the names of Ram. As soon as the rocks were stamped with the name of Lord Ram on their body, they were not drowning but floating because of their association with the name of Lord Ram. If this could happen to the rocks which are just dead matter, then why not with us, and we are living beings, if we chant Ram then certainly we will also be floating and not drowning in the ocean. We will remain above the water and will not be touched by the water if we keep chanting the names of Lord Ram. And we will not only float, but we could be in the boat, going back home. That is also mahima of Ram Nama. So we should take this chanting seriously and be attached and attracted by the holy names, then we will not drown. We will float and go across this material existence and join Sri Krsna. So keep chanting Hare Krishna. On this day Ram was in Sri Lanka and he killed Ravana there. This pastime of Ram and Ravana should be remembered . As we remember this pastime, we take part in this pastime. Many devotees of Ram in India especially in North India today gather in big numbers. They burn the statue of Ravana. While he is being burnt those who are assembled sometimes throw rocks at Ravana and sometimes they also come with a bow and arrow. They also keep shooting Ravana with arrows. So in this way as we remember this pastime of Ram killing Ravana, or take part in Ravana being burnt alive then, this will kill the demonic nature within us. Those lusty desires in us will be eradicated as we remember the pastime of Ram killing Ravana. This is the special benefit of remembering this pastime. That is why this pastime of Ram Vijay Ram killing Ravana is very, very useful, for those who wish to become free from the demonic nature or enemies. Jay Sri Ram! Ho Gaya kama. Some devotees say this that you say Jai Sri Ram and you will be victorious, as we chant Holy names of Shri Ram. I am in Delhi temple now but I have to go to Punjabi bagh temple in Delhi to give Bhagavatam class.We will again remember in that Vijaya dasami Katha at 8 o'clock today. Then we also have a Kirtana-Mela, at Radha Parthasarathi Temple in New Delhi. It will be continuing all day long as the temple is celebrating Vijaya dasami. I also have a slot in the evening, sometime around 7 or 8 p.m. . All glories to Ram-vijay. Jay Sri Ram!! As we remember the pastime of Ram killing Ravana then this will kill the demonic nature within us. Those lusty desires in us will be eradicated. That is why this pastime of Ram Vijay Ram killing Ravana is very useful for those who wish to become free from the demonic nature.
