Srila GuruMaharaj speaks - so how was your Japa?
Gopis knew only one thing and that is to remember Krishna and never forget Krishna.
smartavyaḥ satatam vişnur vismartavyo na jātucit sarve vidhi-nişedhāḥ syur etayor eva kińkarāḥ
'Krsna is the origin of Lord Vişņu. He should always be remembered and never forgotten at any time. All the rules and prohibitions mentioned in the śāstras should be the servants of
these two principles. Even if one reaches Goloka, there too one must serve krsna. So one continuous to perform kirtan and remember krşņa.
Smartavya means to be remembered, so while chanting if one is not remembering kṛṣṇa it's just like doing any other activity. When there is Rasa lila pastime, kṛṣṇa is present with
each and every gopi Someone can say- oh why only for gopi kṛṣņa is always available? Isn't this partiality, Why not for us too?
So it's not like this- whenever one chants kṛṣņa appears for each one as one chants nicely.
So kṛṣṇa has said-
Bg. 15.15
सर्वस्य चाहं हृदि सन्निवर्ष्टो मत्तः स्मृविर्ज्ावनमपोहनं च । र्ेिैश्च सर्ैरहमेर् र्ेद्यो र्ेिान्िकृद्वेिवर्िेर् चाहम् ॥ १५ ॥
sarvasya cāham hrdi sannivisto mattaḥ smrtir jñānam apohanam ca vedaiś ca sarvair aham eva vedyo vedānta-krd veda-vid eva cāham
I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas, I am to be known. Indeed, I am the compiler of Vedānta,
and I am the knower of the Vedas.
Kṛṣņa is so personal he's with everyone. So kṛṣṇa resides in each and every living entity's body in the region on the heart Bg. 7.26
र ्ेिाहं समिीिावन र्िवमानावन चार्जवन । भवर्ष्याणि च भूिावन मां िज र्ेि न कश्चन ॥ २६ ॥
vedāham samatītāni
vartamānāni cārjuna
bhaviṣyāņi ca bhūtāni
mām tu veda na kaścana
O Arjuna, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, I know everything that has happened in the past, all that is happening in the present, and all things that are yet to come. I also know
all living entities; but Me no one knows.
So kṛṣṇa knows all that has happened in everyone's live nevertheless no one knows krsna.
Infact people ask sometimes ...is there God? Some say krşņa exists! And some say he doesn't. And the reason for this difference is also kṛṣņa, so what does kṛṣṇa do? He resides
in everyone's heart, so kṛṣṇa educates, gives rememberance and forgetfulness to jiva. One has forgotten kṛṣņa and the reason is krşņa. So everything is under the control of krsna
Bg. 9.10
मयाध्यक्षेि प्रकृ विः सूयिे सचराचरम् । हेिजनानेन कौन्िेय र्गवद्वपररर्िविे ॥ १०
mayādhyakşeņa prakṛtiḥ sūyate sa-carācaram
hetunānena kaunteya
jagad viparivartate
This material nature, which is one of My energies, is working under My direction, O son of Kuntī, producing all moving and nonmoving beings. Under its rule this manifestation is
created and annihilated again and again.
Bg. 7.7
मत्तः परिरं नान्यत्ककञ्चचिस्स्ि धनञ्जय मन्नय सर्वन्नमिं प्रोिं सूत्रे मणिगिा इर् ॥ ७ ॥
mattah parataram nānyat kiñcid asti dhanan-jaya mayi sarvam idam protam sūtre manigaņā iva
O conqueror of wealth, there is no truth superior to Me. Everything rests upon Me, as pearls are strung on a thread.
So try to memorize this shloka it's important and try to understand this sloka as well this body is a temple of diseases. Also a temple where krşņa residesSo kṛṣṇa creates the
problem and solution both nothing belongs to jiva. Krşņa himself becomes smaller than the smallest, he's not visible also sometimes just like pearls are strung on a string. Thus can
one see a string in a necklace? No, So even when water flows there is a sweet sound a kartal also makes a particular sound also kṛṣṇa has given us throat to sing, feet to dance so
it's a complete unit. So the sweetness of kirtan, So the sweetness of kirtan comes not only with good tunes but with good notes too but if it is not synchronised nicely then it doesn't
sound good. So kṛṣṇa synchronises everything. And the one who keeps us together in kṛṣṇa conciousness is kṛṣṇa just like a thread keeps all pearls together. So , in this thread there
are two types of relation , one the relation of thread with pearl and second of pearl with another pearl. So this way we also have two relations one with lord and second with
devotee of lord.
There are three classes of devotees
Kanishta Adhikari - One who serves lord but not his devotees.
Madhyam Adhikari -- One who serves lord with his devotees and stay away from offenders of lord and devotees.
Uttam Adhikari -- one who loves lord and everyone else just like shad goswami Vrinda.
nānā-śāstra-vicāraņaika-nipuņau sad-dharma-samsthāpakau" "lokānām hita-kāriņau tri
bhuvane mānyau śaraṇyākarau" "rādhā-krsna-padāravinda-bhajanānandena mattālikau"
“vande rūpa-sanātanau raghu-yugau śrī-jīva-gopālakau"
So we must try to become Uttam Adhikari
dayā nāme ruci vaişņava sevana
iha chara dharma nāhi śuna sanātana
trnad api sunicena
taror iva sahisnuna
amanina manadena
kirtaniyah sada harih
We should be kind to everyone and maintain humility and do Vaishnav seva then we can do
kirtaniya sada Hari.
